The internal fit-out of Maniototo Hospital is on its final days of completion. Over the next few weeks the services will be commissioned, furniture installed and landscaping completed.
The new $7.0m Maniototo Hospital is scheduled to be completed in time for its mid-February audit. Logic have been the Project Managers on the facility from its inception. The Maniototo Hospital new build is progressing well, with painting and floor coverings underway in the main Hospital. The access road is being prepared for asphalting and the Boiler House, Wood Chip Bunker and related services are well underway.
The roof, and windows are now in place, with work approximately 1 week ahead of schedule. Currently the sub-trades are well into the first fix. The doors have arrived, and are being installed.
The Mercy Hospital Car park was completed and handed over on 10th August 2018. On Saturday 11 August, at 9.30am, it was officially opened with a walk-in preview and blessing.
The new car park at Mercy Hospital is in its last two weeks of construction. The final of the concrete slabs are being poured this week.
Framing is now being erected and should be completed by 29th June. The trusses arrive on site next week. It’s looking good!
The successful drilling of the new stormwater pipe route under Marinoto Clinic and the pouring of the Grid C concrete beam have been recently completed. Our attention now turns to the installation of the concrete beams and flat slabs. The car park is on track to be completed late July 2018.
The slab preparation, block laying and drainage complete. Last week we celebrated the first pour of 3. Frost protection has been addressed by laying polystyrene slabs on top of the new concrete foundations.
The rain over the last few days has turned the Mercy Hospital Car Park site into a lake! It took three pumps working flat out to get rid of excess water so they could carry on with the construction.
Good progress is being made on the new Mercy Hospital car park. There will be 96 car parks once the development has been completed. The majority of the excavation is now complete and the installation of the under-slab stormwater pipework has progressed. This project has a completion date of 31st July 2018.

Logic Group recently handed over the Colquhoun Lecture Theatre to the Southern District Health Board, after an extensive environmental clean to remove asbestos in the ceiling space, wall cavities and under croft. The theatre seats 300 and is primarily used by the University of Otago Medical School.

The 5 tonne MRI machine was lifted out of level 1 of the Clinical Services Building on Saturday 12th November. The waiting room, triage and reception of the Emergency Department were temporarily evacuated while the lift took place. The replacement MRI is due to be lifted into the same space in the next week.

Today marked the successful lift of a 4 tonne electrical transformer onto a concrete pad. A crane was needed as the site was inaccessible by any other means. The transformer is part of the new energy strategy for the Mercy Hospital site.
