Education Minister Hipkins visited Otago Polytechnic today to view the new Trades Training Centre construction project. The new Training Centre is expected to be completed in October 2022 and will employ circa 200 tradespeople during construction. Construction has commenced on Clearwater Apartments, a boutique luxury apartment development. Logic Group are working closely with Marty Verry, (Redstag), under a construction management contract. The construction methodology is off to an innovative start – instead of the usual dewatering of the site, we lowered the lake 🙂

Induction took place this morning at Knox College. The team are energetic and ready for a busy 13 weeks.
The roof is being installed on the new O Block extension building. The first floor concrete pour was completed on Monday as planned, meaning work can progress steadily now on both floors.

External condition surveys were undertaken this week for the Dunedin City Council. Heritage Architects, Structural Engineers and a Stonemason consultant were lifted over and around the Dunedin Town Hall and Municipal chambers assessing the building structure. Reports are due soon.

Good progress is being made on the new Mercy Hospital car park. There will be 96 car parks once the development has been completed. The majority of the excavation is now complete and the installation of the under-slab stormwater pipework has progressed. This project has a completion date of 31st July 2018.

Logic Group recently handed over the Colquhoun Lecture Theatre to the Southern District Health Board, after an extensive environmental clean to remove asbestos in the ceiling space, wall cavities and under croft. The theatre seats 300 and is primarily used by the University of Otago Medical School.
