The West Wing roof of the Otago Polytechnic Student Village was completed this week, and the services continue to be installed in the 5 floors on this Wing. Today the Dunedin Mayor, Dave Cull, and Councillors Marie Laufiso, Jim O’Malley and Lee Vandervis took the opportunity to view progress.
Logic Group recently sponsored a Property Council event on site at the Otago Polytechnic. 40 plus people were taken on site to review the student accommodation project progress, and learn more about the sustainability functions of the building. Afterwards Sam Cadden (Logic Director) answered questions at the Polytechnic Hub.
We are at a critical part of the Otago Polytechnic Student Accommodation project with the setting out of the Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) walls. The polystyrene insulation sheets and steel reinforcing are being secured into place today ahead of the first foundation pour. It is envisaged that the pour will go ahead tomorrow. Next week will be a busy one on site as the CLT panels will be delivered from Monday onwards.
700 stone piles for ground stabilisation have been installed for the Otago Polytechnic’s student accommodation building. The laying of the concrete slab will begin this week. Cross laminated timber panels will be delivered mid January.
